Every October, the Atlanta Marriage Encounter community heads north to Red Top State Park. You and your family and friends are all invited for the weekend, or you can just come for the day on Saturday, October 24th, 2020. Community, fellowship and fun with other families awaits you!
Even though COVID-19 is now a part of our daily considerations, we plan to move forward with the hope that things will be better in October and Red Top State Park will allow us to gather in the Group Shelter. If, come October, we are not permitted to do so, the Red Top Committee will come up with a virtual alternative! We will keep you updated.
What goes on at Red Top you wonder??? Well lots of things happen on the weekend. The scheduled events include a pot luck dinner Friday evening & a Bar B Que feast with all the fixin’s followed by Mass on Saturday. There will be lots of children’s activities, trick-or-treating (around the cabins) and just old-fashioned fun! The unscheduled events are left to your imagination. All you have to do is show up and join in on the fun! Please contact Angel & Liz Bonet if you have any ideas. A full schedule of events will be posted closer to the weekend.
- Friday: Gathering, pot luck dinner, and bingo
- Saturday: Giant rosary, children’s activities, pumpkin carving, family pictures, bouncy house & slides, lively auction & fun for adults, group / family feast, family vigil mass & private trick or treating at private cabins on Marriage Encounter Alley!
- Sunday: Gathering breakfast and goodbye hugs
Cabin, camping rental, and the Park Pass are your only cost if you decide to stay Friday and/or Sat. night. The rest of the weekend’s activities are paid for through our silent & live auctions held on Saturday. Cabins have 2 or 3 bedrooms (with two full beds in each bedroom), a couch, a full kitchen and dining area, living room and 1, 2 or 3 bathrooms..Registration will open on September 1 for all couples and families wanting a cabin.
The total cost of the cabin MUST be paid in full by September 30th. If payment is not received by this date, you will forfeit your reservation. Also, the prices of the cabins will go up after that date. Please note that if paying by credit card we will have to add the small fee charged for credit card transactions. If you don’t want to stay in a cabin or don’t get one, Red Top Mountain State Park has tent and RV camping available. Use the Red Top Mountain web site to make those reservations.

At this time, we are looking for volunteers to run/coordinate certain aspects of Red Top. If you want to help and would like to commit to something that is short-term – this IS the gig for you! Please contact Angel & Liz Bonet and they will fit your skills to a fun task! We are so excited of the possibilities that this year’s Red Top event holds, either live or virtual. Help us make this year the best ever!
